The People Behind the Process: Meet the Team at Process Instrument Solutions
28 October 2026
Behind every reliable instrumentation solution is a team of people who understand the technology, the challenges and the importance of getting things right. Discover the people behind Process Instrument Solutions and how their expertise helps support our customers every day.
When you think about process instrumentation, you might think about flow meters, level sensors, analytical equipment, calibration or control systems. But behind every successful project is something just as important: the people who make it happen.
At Process Instrument Solutions, we believe that exceptional service starts with understanding our customers. That means having the right technical knowledge, asking the right questions and working together to find solutions that meet real-world requirements.
Since 1998, we have built our business around providing high-quality instrumentation alongside technical expertise and customer support. Today, our team brings together experience across engineering, sales, project coordination, logistics and marketing, helping us support customers throughout their instrumentation journey.
But what does that look like in practice?
Experience That Makes a Difference
Our team combines years of industry experience with fresh perspectives and a commitment to continuous learning.
From colleagues who have spent decades working in sales and procurement to engineers developing their expertise in control and instrumentation, we recognise the value of sharing knowledge across the business.
Our Chairman, Jon Tayler, remains closely involved in technical matters and customer applications, working alongside Managing Director Mike Cardy to guide the company’s direction and explore new opportunities.
Our wider leadership team brings together experience in engineering, sales, customer service and business operations. This helps ensure that customer requirements remain central to the way we work, from the initial enquiry through to project delivery and ongoing support.
It’s this combination of experience, collaboration and practical knowledge that helps us find the right solutions for our customers.
A Team Working Together to Support You
Every customer enquiry is different. Some require help identifying the right instrument, while others involve a complex engineering project, an urgent replacement part or ongoing maintenance.
Supporting these requirements takes more than one person or department. It takes a team working together.
Sales and Solutions: Understanding Your Requirements
Our sales and solutions teams are often the first point of contact for customers.
Their role goes beyond preparing quotations. They work with customers to understand their applications, identify suitable products, answer technical questions and coordinate with our engineering team and supply partners where additional expertise is needed.
With experience spanning sales engineering, procurement, instrumentation and customer support, the team helps guide enquiries from the initial conversation through to the supply of the right solution.
Our Sales team deliver effective technical solutions, while colleagues including Toni Kirkpatrick, Craig Langdon, Daniel Dunbabin, Stef McGregor, Beverly Benico and Dexter Landicho contribute their individual experience and expertise across sales and solutions.
We also invest in developing future talent. Our Sales Apprentice, Daniel Appleton, is building his knowledge of the instrumentation industry while supporting the team with enquiries and quotations.
The result? A team focused on understanding what you need and helping you find the right solution.
Engineering and Technical Services: Turning Solutions into Reality
Selecting the right instrument is only one part of the process. Installation, commissioning, calibration and maintenance all play an important role in achieving reliable measurement and effective process control.
Our engineering and services team supports customers with the practical and technical challenges involved in keeping instrumentation working as it should.
Led by our technical and engineering management team, this includes project development, site coordination, instrumentation commissioning, calibration and ongoing technical support.
Craig Hamman oversees technical matters across areas including calibration, aftersales support and new installation projects. Sonia Desborough coordinates projects on customer sites, helping maintain communication and support effective delivery.
Our C&I engineers, including Charlie Rushen and Sam Foreman, are also developing their specialist knowledge and practical skills within the instrumentation industry.
With CompEx-trained technicians and engineers, recognised safety credentials and UKAS-accredited calibration capabilities, our services team combines technical competence with a focus on quality, safety and reliability.
Whether you’re planning an installation, investigating a measurement issue or looking for support with existing equipment, our aim is to provide practical expertise you can rely on.
Aftersales and Logistics: Keeping Things Moving
Reliable customer service doesn’t stop when an order is placed.
Behind the scenes, our aftersales and logistics colleagues help coordinate stock, manage goods in and out, and support the processes that keep orders and customer requirements moving efficiently.
Ben Spencer, our Service & Projects Manager, bring experience in logistics, inventory management and operational processes.
This work helps connect the different parts of the business, supporting the sales and service teams while helping customers receive the products and assistance they need.
It might not always be the most visible part of an instrumentation project, but effective coordination and communication can make a significant difference to the customer experience.
Marketing: Connecting Expertise with the People Who Need It
Technical expertise is most valuable when customers can find it, understand it and put it to use.
Our marketing team helps communicate what Process Instrument Solutions does, the solutions we offer and the expertise available across the business.
Through website content, case studies, campaigns, social media and our Process Matters content, we aim to make instrumentation information more accessible and showcase how our products and services support real industrial applications.
Led by Marketing Manager Jess Flight, alongside Media & Marketing Executive Xanthe Shore, the team works with colleagues across the business to share knowledge, highlight innovations and bring customer solutions to life.
From explaining complex applications to showcasing the people and projects behind our work, marketing helps connect our technical capabilities with the customers who can benefit from them.
More Than Individual Expertise: The Value of Working Together
While each team has its own responsibilities, the real value comes from how we work together.
An enquiry might begin with a conversation with our sales team, involve technical input from an engineer, require coordination with a supply partner and continue through installation, commissioning or calibration support.
By bringing these capabilities together, we can help customers navigate different stages of their instrumentation requirements with a more joined-up approach.
Our relationships with established instrumentation manufacturers also extend our technical knowledge and product expertise, helping us explore solutions for a broad range of applications.
We understand that customers need more than a product recommendation. They need clear communication, dependable support and confidence that their requirements are being understood.
That’s why collaboration is such an important part of the way we work.
Our People, Our Values
Our approach is built around a few straightforward principles:
- Putting customers first: Understanding individual requirements and working towards the right solution.
- Technical excellence: Developing and sharing the knowledge needed to support complex instrumentation applications.
- Open communication: Making it easier for customers to understand their options and stay informed.
- Working collaboratively: Bringing together colleagues, customers and supply partners to achieve the best possible outcome.
- Continuous improvement: Developing our people, processes and capabilities as customer needs evolve.
These principles influence how we approach everything from a straightforward product enquiry to a major engineering project.
We know that trust is earned through the quality of our work, the way we communicate and the support we provide when it matters.
Looking Ahead: Developing the Next Generation of Instrumentation Expertise
The process instrumentation industry continues to evolve, with new technologies, changing operational requirements and increasing demands for efficiency and reliability.
Developing our team’s knowledge and capabilities is therefore essential.
We recognise the importance of giving colleagues opportunities to learn, gain practical experience and develop specialist skills. From apprentices beginning their careers to experienced professionals expanding their knowledge, we want to create an environment where people can grow and contribute.
By sharing experience across the business and continuing to strengthen our technical capabilities, we aim to ensure our customers have access to the knowledge and support they need, both today and in the future.
