Chemical Storage Tank Volume

Background

A plant required a new local display of contents of chemical storage tanks. The IP65-NEMA 4X was recommended for its new ultrasonic transmitters for wastewater treatment plants to measure the volume in two sodium hypochlorite tanks. This specific plant required a local display of the contents.

Challenge

The plant required a local display of the contents as the existing readouts were out of calibration, obsolete and using out of date technology. Having the best technology fitted would allow for more efficiency, accuracy and peace of mind for the plant managers.

Solution

Two ProVu PD6000-6R3 meters were provided to display the volume of the two sodium hypochlorite tanks and the retransmit of the 4-20 mA signal. A IP65-NEMA 4X enclosure was used to house these two meters. An aluminum sulphate tank was added later and another PD6000-6R3 meter was added to display the contents This meter was put into the PDA2811 enclosure that holds a single ProVu meter. Precision Digital offers plastic, steel, and stainless steel enclosures that can house up to 10 meters.

Result

The customer was able to view the new ProVu displays from afar with confidence, providing a much safer environment and far more accurate readings of the potentially hazardous contents.
