Envirocleanse: Standardizing instrumentation for skids containing ship ballast water chlorination and dechlorination
Background
Envirocleanse provide a superior next-generation disinfectant for commercial and industrial use that is non-toxic and sustainable. For this project Envirocleanse wanted to standardise their instrumentation supplier for their skids (5-7). They were using a mix of competitors as well as Siemens.
Challenge
As part of the troubleshooting of this project it was concluded that the selected precision instruments would have to provide consistency, serviceability in poor and weather conditions as well as in other environments deemed hazardous.
Solution
Siemens conducted multiple presentations and worked with Envirocleanse to identify their concerns and issues regarding pressure, flow, and level. To provide the greatest accuracy and reliability in hazardous and unpredictable environments, Siemens suggested the SITRANS MAG 5100W, SITRANS P DSIII, SITRANS P320, SITRANS LU240, and CLS100, 200, and 300. Siemens was also able to offer cost competitive instruments for each application and standardise Envirocleanse’s operations.
Result
Envirocleanse was able to standardise their equipment with Siemens’ instrumentation. With this in mind, Envirocleanse was comfortable knowing they could contact support wherever they may be docked.
Envirocleanse plans to amend approximately 5,000 ships to adhere to the new regulations surrounding ballast water globally. This number is likely to grow due to company development as well as other key factors regarding the ships’ compliance.
