Process Instrument Solutions’ Team Day

February Company Update Team Day Out

Last week the Process Instrument Solutions team enjoyed a day out at Bowles Rocks in Tunbridge-Wells. A fun-filled and informative development training day saw the team taking on some challenging events, problem-solving activities and action planning.

Mike Cardy, Process Instrument Solutions’ Financial Director, said: “The team embraced the training day wholeheartedly and I was really proud of everyone individually, but also proud of what we are capable of together. Well done team PI!”

Project Update

February Company Update Fox ThermalRecently we have won several orders for updating to landfill site generation systems to supply and install the industry leading Fox Thermal FT1 mass flow meters.

The difficulty with this type of work and implementing the correct instrumentation involves the requirement for a highly accurate flow measurement. As the flows are relatively low pressure but the volume of gas can be high in pressure rate, there is a requirement for precise and repeatable results.

Process Instrument Solutions recommends the Fox Thermal FT1 Mass Flowmeter for its optimum accuracy of the measure flow rate, for example from landfill to plant as well being able to measure effectively the constituents of the biogas.

Team Update

February Company Update New Company Van

We’re proud to announce this month’s latest addition to the team; our brand new van fleet. The fleet have already been clocking up the miles on the roads around the UK.

Product Showcase

We’re taking a closer look at the Siemens SITRANS AS100, an acoustic sensor used for solids flow detection.

This sensor detects changes in high frequency sound waves from equipment and materials in motion and reacts instantly to changes in solids flow to warn of blockages, product absence, or equipment failure such as burst filter bags.

The image below shows a test of the sensors to prove they work on the application. If you need assistance with testing please get in touch with our Service team.

The key benefits of the SITRANS AS100:

  • Operating with a SITRANS CU02 control unit, the system detects conditions of high flow, low flow or no flow
  • The non-invasive design requires little or no maintenance
  • Mulitple mounting options, screw in, bolt on, weld, or bond in place
  • With a high and low sensitivity range of operation, the sensor offers an exceptionally wide range of application capabilities
