Measuring Pure Gases with Thermal Mass Flow Meters
7 December 2016
Fox Flow Meters provide the real time responsiveness required in a variety of pure gas flow measurement applications.
Pure gases may be used in any of these applications and industries:
- Food Processing like CO2 in beer manufacturing, nitrogen in mayonnaise manufacturing, hydrogen in hydrogenated oil production
- Pharmaceutical Industry for tablet and pill coating nitrogen flow
- Hydrogen flow for fuel cell production
- Oxygen flow to burners for the glass or ceramics manufacturing industry
- Nitrogen purge monitoring in pulp and paper plants
- Leak testing in industrial processing plants
- Ozone measurement in wastewater treatment plants
- Argon usage for specialty gas producers
- Coke or oven gas in steel and aluminium fabrication
- Many more applications!
Common pure gases:
- Ammonia
- Argon
- Carbon Dioxide
- Carbon Monoxide
- Helium
- Hydrogen
- Methane
- Nitrogen
- Oxygen
- Ethane
- Propane
- Butane
- Ozone
Most of these pure gases are available in the Gas-SelectX® gas selection menu feature in the Model FT1 thermal mass flow meter. The Models FT2A and FT3 can also be calibrated to measure all of these gases.
Fox Thermal Instruments strives to design and manufacture the most innovative and reliable thermal mass flow meter products to our customers. All Fox meters measure mass flow rate and are available in insertion and inline models. Fox models FT1, FT2A and FT3 are mass flow meters and temperature transmitters providing isolated 4 to 20mA and pulse output for flow rate, and a 4 to 20mA pulse output for process gas temperature or a second flow rate output.
